About Round Wood of Mayfield

For over thirty years, we have operated from this ancient woodland tucked in an area of outstanding natural beauty in East Sussex. Our oak-framed offices and timber mill sit harmoniously within this landscape.

Roundwood began with a passion for fine timber construction and a dedication to craftsmanship. Over time, we’ve evolved — embracing modern technology and a broader range of outdoor and architectural products — while preserving the core values that define us: integrity, durability, beauty, and care for every detail.

Today, our product range includes oak-framed buildings, quality timber products, and exquisite planters and garden features, all delivered nationwide through a well-developed transport network, and increasingly to the rest of the world.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe great design is timeless. Whether you’re building an oak-frame structure, installing decking, or selecting outdoor features, your choice should reflect quality, longevity, and the character of natural materials. That’s why we don’t just follow trends — we create solutions built to last.

COMMITMENT TO QUALITY

A commitment to quality — supported by both craftsmanship and modern precision — sits at the core of everything we do.

While we continue to honour traditional timber-framing principles, our oak-frame workshop pairs skilled joinery with cutting-edge technology. This blend allows us to produce frames with exceptional accuracy, consistency and finish. Each structure features fully planed oak, traditional mortise-and-tenon joints, curved braces and oak pegs, and every frame is dry-assembled in our workshop to ensure a perfect fit before it reaches site.

Alongside our premium timber offering — including solid and engineered oak flooring, hardwood and softwood decking, cladding and joinery — we have also expanded into contemporary outdoor design. Our corten steel planters, fire pits, water features and garden pieces are selected for their durability, natural weathering, and ability to bring a modern edge that complements our timber ranges.

Across all categories, we remain dedicated to quality, sustainability, and products built to last — helping customers create spaces with enduring character and style.

RANGES MADE TO LAST

Our timber mill produces skirting, architraves, and solid flooring with a focus on engineered products for superior durability. Our decking and cladding ranges, including hardwoods like ipe and oak and softwoods like cedar, are chosen for their inherent toughness and aesthetic appeal.

Our Garden Features strand has seen extensive development in recent years. A vast selection of premium planters, firepits, barrels, water features, furniture and more, all in high-end materials including corten steel, now sit alongside the cast iron statues we first introduced over twenty years ago.

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

As part of our commitment to ongoing sustainability, we are constantly evaluating our products and processes. In addition to ensuring our timbers are FSC sourced, we have added environmentally respected thermo-treated products to our range and minimise the impact of shipping where practical.

A significant investment in technology has effectively reduced our timber waste to zero. Our timber offcuts and sawdust are either converted into wood fuel, such as briquettes, or fed into our recently installed bio-mass unit in order to power our kilns and heating systems.
