WOODEN PLINTHS

OUR SOLID OAK PLINTH CUBES

Our wooden plinth cubes arrive to us freshly sawn, but will have partially seasoned before being despatched. Oak plinths/ cubes, are cut from solid oak as such, they need to be stored outside in order to assist the seasoning process. As with all timbers, cubes will silver down through exposure to sunlight as such, they may be weathered and partially silvered down but can be restored by sanding and oiling. Oiling will help delay the silvering process, although it can never be stopped completely. The timber will continue to dry over time according to its end environment, possibly resulting in some shaking and cracking, but this will only add character. Please note if using these cubes internally they will be more prone to splitting as they will continue to dry.
